Flight
2026
Flight is a webpage prototype for a Digital Art Exhibit using a curated collection of artwork from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Open Access collection. Flight features various forms of historical ceramic and metal vessels with depictions of real and mythical birds.
The goal of the logo design was to represent the work in the digital exhibit with the style and mood of the branding elements. The artwork picked for the exhibition collection are all vessels that feature birds, with a majority of those pieces being ceramics. The branding for the site centers around being simple, slightly modern, and elegant. The head of the bird was designed to look like a “rib tool” that is used in ceramics. The beak completes the bird in the design.
The color palette is meant to be simple, yet elegant and not conflict or be at competition with the colors in the collection’s work.
The target audience is ceramic artists and hobbyists, bird watchers and those interested in ornithology and enjoy art, and people interested in historical art.
