Callum Husch
Callum Husch was born in Ithaca, New York. Growing up around his two sisters and Mother who enjoy drawing, photography, and painting, he quickly became interested in creating art as well. He had early interests in studio art, music, and performing arts. He began his college education at Alfred University as an Art and Design major where he found throughout his first semester that his focus began to shift away from studio arts and move towards to audio production, creative coding, interactive experiences, and digital design. He transferred to SUNY Oswego, where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interaction Design with a minor in Audio Production. He is still influenced by his previous engagement with performing arts. After graduation, he wishes to get involved in live entertainment by making animations and video effects for music artists and live events.
My Approach
When I first began coding, I had a goal to learn how to make art that viewers could interact with. Throughout the past two years, I realized the connection I was seeking to make between the viewer, and the artwork didn’t need to rely on physical interactivity, but rather, in how immersive it is. This has led me to exploring video production, coding, and animation with a new perspective. I’ve always had an idea in my head that I want to play with light as a medium, and with each new project, I feel more successful in my execution and expression of that idea.
